Sodexo is the global leader in services that improves Quality of Life, an essential factor in individual and organizational performance. Operating in 67 countries, Sodexo provides over 100 million clients an integrated offering developed over more than 50 years of experience: from food services, reception, maintenance and cleaning, to facilities and equipment management; from services and programs fostering employees’ engagement to solutions that simplify and optimize their mobility and expenses management, to in-home assistance, child care centers and concierge services.

Sodexo India On-site Services is a leading service provider of food and facilities management solutions that impact the quality of life of clients and its employees.

Why is this gaining popularity?

Of the 34.1 million Indian students enrolled in higher education, over 30% students pursue courses away from their home town. Campus accommodation is limited and PGs and rental accommodation near universities lack the holistic premium living solution.

With greater awareness for quality of life, parents and students are seeking a safe, secure and hygienically maintained facility with nutritious and fresh food availability. Residential campuses, therefore, are viewed as an extension to home with modern, state-of-the-art amenities and services that include high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable en- suite bedrooms, space to study and space to have fun.

Sodexo’s student experience program, called Student Living by Sodexo, goes beyond simply managing facilities. It employs student engagement strategies and services to help students feel at home and succeed both academically and socially. For the residential campuses it means, helping them focus on their core functions. Sodexo will offer a comprehensive range of services including student dining, hi-street retail food solutions, advanced cleaning and housekeeping solutions, technical engineering, security, building maintenance and service help desk.

“Student living is an emerging niche in India”, says Nitin Trikha, Segment Director – Sodexo Schools & Universities in India. serve 56 premium schools & universities serving more than Sodexo globally has over 25 years of experience in managing off-campus Student Living Residences. Why living at Tribe is better than living in an apartment?

7 September 2020

Admin

You spend a lot of time with the people you live with. This is supposed to be a safe place. That’s why you need to be smart about deciding where you are going to live for the next few years.

Here are a few pointers on why we think choosing to live in Tribe is a very wise option. Now we are not saying that Tribe is the only way to go but you can decide for yourself. Go ahead, find out why we think it’s the best.

Ease of living

As if securing a college admission wasn’t stressful enough, you don’t need the hassle of dealing with landlords and brokers.

Tribe has all their information on their website and getting a room is just a few clicks away. It’s that simple. Plus you are assured of getting a comfortable and a beautifully furnished room.

When you shift out of home for the first time, you seek independence. But independence comes with responsibility. Let’s not forget about all the daily chores you need to do from cleaning the house to washing your clothes to doing the vessels to .. well it’s tiring to just list them out. And who has the time to make sure the help comes regularly when you are too busy having fun?

Tribe understands this and has everything in place so you can just concentrate on your assignments or just have fun. There is also a happiness manager for any other difficulties you may face.

Food

Managing your food isn’t so easy in an apartment. From buying groceries to cooking and cleaning your space after cooking takes much of your time. Even ordering-in takes at least half an hour. Why go through all this when you can just go downstairs to Café Mamaliga and get hot and tasty food. There is also a hot plate available in the breakout area to make quick meals and the cafe is open 24/7. Yes, you read that right. Café Mamaliga will satisfy those midnight cravings too. Doesn’t that sound amazing?

Because let’s face it, you are not going to have a Monica Geller across the hall to feed you.

Communal living

Your college life is where you make the most number of friends. Tribe is a community where you can meet and interact with so many new people. And it’s a community that stands with you through everything including your happy and sad times. Or during those times when you just need a break from your studies. This is a community where you will be living with more than just 2-3 roommates but that doesn’t mean you won’t have your privacy. Just a few steps outside your door and you can find almost everything you need, from a shirt for a date to a cute dress for a night out or even an ear when you want to grumble about anything and everything under the sun.

No Nosy Neighbours

Why deal with those nosy uncles and gossiping aunties who think they have the right to know every single detail of your life when you can live with a bunch of cool people.

At Tribe, you don’t have a curfew and nobody is going to interfere with your vibe. You have all the freedom of an apartment minus all the nosiness. It strikes the perfect balance between security and comfort.

Extra Facilities

Tribe provides bus service to your college at a small fee so you don’t have the inconvenience of finding transport every day. This way you can save on travelling expenses and instead spend it on your next night out.

Tribe has a fitness and sports centre to work out, play sports, and engage in a recreational sporting activity together with their community. You can borrow over 20 board games from the reception to play with your friends. You can also borrow a projector to watch movies or matches. With easily accessible food, you now have all the components to throw a pajama party.

Now you won’t get all this in an apartment, will you?

If you think Tribe is just another hostel, think again. Tribe is an experience.

5 easy recipes to satisfy your midnight cravings

7 September 2020

Admin

Hostel life all about those midnight adventures with your friends, be it a movie night, game night or just a chill night-in with your buddies after a long day or those nights where you are trying to cramp in months of the syllabus on the night before your exam. And the food is a major part of these adventures. Here are a few super easy and quick recipes to kick start your adventure.

It is going to be even easier and convenient as Café Mamaliga at Tribe Stays is open 24/7 and has all the basic equipment to fix your own snacks. Now isn’t Tribe one of the best hostels in Pune?

Chilly Cheese Toast

Classic street food that is very easy to make. The main ingredients you need are bread, grated cheese and green chilly. You can add butter, oregano, chilli flakes and garlic for extra taste. Now, these ingredients are totally substitutable and you can use anything else that is available to you.

Butter your bread and add all your ingredients on the bread before adding grated cheese. Now just pop it into the oven for 4-5 minutes. You can have it with some ketchup or some mustard sauce.

If you don’t have an oven, you can also toast it on a flat pan. Now, this is not an issue as Café Mamaliga has everything available for a quick snack. Chilly cheese toast is easy, quick, delicious and is sure to satisfy those hunger pangs.

Smoked Paprika Potato Chips

We all love fried food which is delicious but very unhealthy for our bodies. The biggest culprit of fried snacks is potato chips. Now the packaged potato chips that you get in your supermarkets are convenient and tasty but they are loaded with fatty oils, artificial flavouring and empty calories. Here is a recipe that makes sure you aren’t consuming empty calories but that will also satisfy your cravings for potato chips. Now you will have to take a little more effort than just buying packaged potato chips but your body will thank you in the long run.

A few ingredients you need are potatoes, olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper.

  1.  Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2.  Peel the potato and slice as thinly and uniformly as possible.
  3. Soak the potato slices for at least 5 minutes in cold water.
  4. Drain and pat dry, then toss in a bowl with the olive oil, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Lay the potatoes out on an oiled baking sheet.
  6.  Bake until the potatoes are golden brown and crunchy, about 30 minutes.

These chips are as delicious if not more, thanks to the fresh potato flavour and the smoky paprika flavour. So the next time you are on your groceries run, you know what not to include.

Deep-Fried Oreos

Oreos are an all-time favourite for almost everybody. It is almost guaranteed and a constant item on your groceries list. Each person has a way or a favourite combination of eating these cookies. There is a way to jazz it up a little.

You will need pancake batter, an egg, milk and 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil.

  1. Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Whisk together the egg, milk, and 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil in a bowl until smooth. Stir in the pancake mix until no dry lumps remain.
  3.  Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time, and carefully place into the hot frying oil. Cook until the cookies are golden-brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate before serving.

Next time you are having a movie night with your friends, impress them with these easy deep- fried Oreos.

Dark Chocolate Dipped Bananas

Mid-night sweet cravings are very real. It could be because you are actually hungry or stressed or it could be just out of habit. Why not make these cravings a little healthier by throwing in a fruit?

To make dark chocolate-dipped bananas,

  1. Peel, then cut each banana in half crosswise (or into tiny cubes) and insert a craft stick (or a toothpick) into each half. Place on a tray and put in the freezer until frozen, about 3 hours.
  2. Melt the chocolate (you can also use milk or white chocolate, whichever is convenient) in the top of a double boiler over slightly simmering water, over the lowest possible heat, stirring frequently.
  3. Dip each frozen banana into the chocolate, till it is coated completely.
  4. Now you can add peanuts or any nuts of your choice. Simply roll the coated bananas on the nuts. You can also add coconut shavings.
  5. Serve immediately or wrap individually in plastic wrap or waxed paper and freeze for up to 2 weeks.

If you are not a big fan of bananas, you can substitute it with strawberries or any fruit of your choice and convenience.

Maggi

Maggi is almost synonymous to student life and it is the go-to food in all situations, we just had to include it in the list. Each of us has our preferences while making Maggi, watery or dry, with or without ketchup etc. Now I am sure most of us have figured out ways to spice it up, here are a few suggestions,

  •   Cheese and egg Maggi

Add some grated cheese and some scrambled eggs or omelette to your Maggi.

  • Deep-Fried Maggi

Cook Maggi the way you prefer it ( the drier the better and easier) and carefully deep fry it in the pan of vegetable oil you set aside to boil. Sprinkle chaat masala, or whatever else that you prefer and you’ve got the perfect rainy day snack.

  •  Maggi Sandwich

Cook your Maggi slightly drier than usual to avoid making the bread soggy. Whip your favourite sandwich ingredients out and throw in the freshly made Maggi.

  •  Meat Maggi

You can add whatever meat you like, be it sausages, pepperoni or leftover fried chicken. Cook your meat to your liking, slightly prior to adding the Maggi. Voila!
