4 Budget Friendly Activities in Pune

It’s that time of the year again, to snuggle inside our blankets or hoodies and sip on hot chocolate. While most of us really love the idea of switching on our hibernation mode during the winter breaks, there are some of us who are ready to explore the thrill of Pune. If you’re one of those people who’d like to create fun memories before the new semester starts, it’s time you step out of your hostel in Pune.

There are plenty of activities that can get you out of your room and enjoying your holidays, but it can be hard to find ones that won’t break the bank.

Thankfully, we’ve found some budget-friendly activities for you to explore in Pune! Whether it’s a hike on a trail with your tribe or a trip to an art museum, these are all sure to make your winter break one to remember.

Pawna Lake

You don’t want to be one of those students who moved to a new place, stayed in a luxury accommodation in Pune, but limited themselves to only urban life. Don’t skip the thrill of enjoying the beautiful weather. It’s time to get out of the city and head over to one of the most beautiful lakes in Pune- The Pawana Lake.

It is located in Malwani which is a suburb of Pune. The lake is surrounded by lush green forests and hills. This is the best place to go if you’re looking for some winter fun and relaxation. There are many places to visit around the lake such as Parvati Hill, Bhagwati Temple, Akshay Dam, Bhandari Devi Temple etc.

You can also go on a boat ride around the lake or if you like hiking, there are several trails that wind their way through the forests around Pawna Lake

Lonavala

If you’re looking for something more active and adventurous, then Lonavala is a great choice! It is located about 80 kms from Pune and it has a lot of attractions such as walking trails, waterfalls, tea plantations etc. If you’re staying in a coliving in Pune, you are just one text away from making new travel buddies.

There are plenty of things to do in Lonavala, including trekking and visits to local temples. The town has even been voted one of the top 10 places in India to live!

Kalsubai Trek

If you want to get away from all of the touristy stuff that Pune has to offer, then this is one option worth considering even if you’re in a student hostel in Pune

The Kalsubai Sunrise Trek takes travelers through dense forested areas where they can reconnect with nature and see several species of animals. (The forest might just be more happening than your boys hostel in Pune during winters.)

The trek lasts for about 3 hours but you’ll have unlimited memories to cherish for a lifetime. You’ll be on a journey through the lush landscape in order to reach a small waterfall called “Kalsubai”.

Sydney Point

If you are looking to capture some aesthetic sunrise and sunset streaks on Snapchat, you would want to visit the Sydney Point in Panchagani. The retail therapy might have worked for you fine, but if you want something different, something that you can do out of your girls hostel in Pune, this is the place for you.

You can scroll through the stunning landscape photographs while sitting in your luxury accommodation in Pune, but you’ll definitely find the peace you’re looking for once you witness the picturesque view of Dham Dam, Krishna Valley, the city of Wai and the Kamalgad Fort.

What are you waiting for?

During your winter breaks, you can do so much more than just eat, sleep and repeat. It’s always a good idea to explore your new city as much as you can, after all, experience matters in the long run. (Talking about experiences, when you are back to your daily college struggles after the winter break, trust Tribe Stays to make your life way easier!)

Good things come to those who wait.
Great things come to those who don't!
